Misericordia / Pinti Cemetery

On land outside the city walls that was used by the hospital of Santa Maria Nuova, the Misericordia of Florence found space for its own cemetery, reserved for members of the confraternity. Towards the end of the 1830s Santa Maria Nuova relinquished all claims, and the cemetery known as dei Pinti became the exclusive preserve of the Misericordia.
