Originally designed by Gherardo Silvani in the seventeenth century, this historic palace contains an extraordinary cycle of paintings by Sebastiano Ricci, a leading figure in early-eighteenth-century Italian Rococo. Elegant stucco work by Baratta adorns the monumental ground-floor rooms. Now home to a department of the University of Florence, it opens to the public only on rare occasions.
